Hey, I’m Joey. I’ve backpacked through 40+ countries with my partner, Lily, on a shoestring budget, from Southeast Asia to Central America and proving that you don’t need a lot of money to see the world

I’ve never had deep pockets, but that’s never stopped me from chasing adventure. I believe the world is way too amazing to wait until you’re “rich enough” to see it.

I’ve overlanded from Amsterdam to southern Türkiye with just £700, helped care for stray dogs at a rescue shelter in Morocco, and built a fence with a man named Dragan in the Bosnian mountains while hammered on homemade rakija. Backpacking for me is about freedom and finding community in the most unexpected places.
